Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti became the first manager to win the league in all five of Europe’s major leagues as Real Madrid beat Espanyol 4-0 to win at home against Espanyol on Saturday, to officially clinched the 2021-22 La Liga season title.

Two goals from Rodrygo and strikes from Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema confirmed Real’s 35th Spanish title.

The day before the match, manager Ancelotti had expressed his desire to close it out: “We’re on match point and when the best tennis players get there, they make sure they win it.”

Now sitting 17 points above second-placed Sevilla and 18 above Barcelona, with four matches to play, there are not enough points available for any of the chasers to catch up with the Los Blancos at this point.
