About 100 vulnerable residents in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State benefitted from a free medical outreach and food distribution held on Friday at Ipetumodu Town Hall, organised by friends of Deputy Speaker Akinyode Oyewusi to mark his birthday, where beneficiaries received medical tests, medications, glasses and food items.
Free Medical Outreach in Ife North LGA
The outreach took place in Ipetumodu, headquarters of Ife North LGA. Friends of Akinyode Oyewusi, Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, organised the programme.
Beneficiaries received free medical consultations, malaria and Hepatitis B tests, and medications. Health workers also conducted free eye screening and distributed glasses.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Olakunle Fajinmi thanked the organisers for the gesture.
He said the free glasses and food items would ease their burden.
Support for Vulnerable Residents
Addressing residents at the town hall, Oyewusi spoke through his wife, Mrs Adeola Oyewusi. She explained that organisers selected vulnerable and elderly residents across the local government.
She assured participants that the lawmaker would continue to prioritise their welfare. She also urged residents to remain united and support development efforts in the state.
Furthermore, she encouraged constituents to vote for Ademola Adeleke in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
According to her, collective participation would ensure continuity and community advancement.
Previous Empowerment Initiatives
The outreach followed earlier empowerment programmes facilitated by Oyewusi.
The lawmaker recently distributed 120 chickens, 130 bags of rice and cash support worth N5 million to constituents. The gesture aimed to help residents celebrate the festive season.
Earlier, beneficiaries also received 30 Bajaj motorcycles, 20 deep freezers and 20 3.5KVA generators. Others got 32-inch television sets, washing machines, sewing machines, grinding machines and inverter fans.
These initiatives targeted economic empowerment and poverty reduction across Ife North communities.
Lawmaker Reaffirms Commitment
Oyewusi reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the needs of his constituents. He stressed that he would not relent in promoting their well-being.
He added that healthcare support and welfare programmes would continue to receive attention.
