DSS Foils Arms Trafficking and Kidnapping in Bauchi and Gombe States

Bauchi, Gombe, Nigeria – The Department of State Services (DSS) arrested suspected arms traffickers and rescued a kidnapped six-year-old boy following a three-week surveillance operation. The suspects were caught with a large cache of arms and ammunition intended for delivery in Bauchi State.


DSS Launches Successful Operation Against Bandit Cell

DSS operatives monitored a notorious bandit cell operating across Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, and Adamawa States for over three weeks. They identified the suspects and launched a precise operation, arresting them with illegal weapons.

“During interrogation, the suspects revealed the arms consignment was meant for one Ardo Hamma Ari, a resident of Kukawa Village, Alkaleri LGA, Bauchi State,” the source disclosed.


Rescue of Kidnapped Boy in Gombe State

In a related operation, DSS rescued Mohammed Jabir, a six-year-old boy, in Gyada Village, Talase, Balanga LGA, Gombe State.

The boy was kidnapped by Salisu Hussain, who tricked him under the pretext of teaching him to ride a motorcycle. Once reported, DSS acted swiftly, leading to the safe recovery of the child and the arrest of the kidnapper.

Mohammed’s parents expressed deep gratitude to DSS for the safe return of their son.


Suspects in Custody Awaiting Trial

All arrested suspects are currently in DSS custody and will be arraigned in court soon. Security sources confirmed that the arrests mark a significant disruption of an active arms trafficking and kidnapping network in northern Nigeria.
