Super Eagles Squad Update: Chelle Drops Osimhen, Names New Faces for Friendlies

By Elizabeth Ugbo

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has announced a 23-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming international friendlies against Iran on March 27 and Jordan on March 31 in Antalya, Turkey, aiming to test new players while adjusting tactics following the absence of key stars like Victor Osimhen and Stanley Nwabali.

Chelle has combined experienced players with fresh talent to create a competitive team. Notably, forwards Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, and Moses Simon lead the attack, while Chidera Ejuke, Paul Onuachu, and Akor Adams provide additional options. Germany-based Philip Otele and Belgium-based Collins Yira Sor earned their first call-ups due to impressive club performances.
