The Kano State Government has approved 200 Saudi Riyals and free Ihram for each intending pilgrim for the 2026 Hajj exercise. Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo announced the support on Sunday in Kano during a practical demonstration session organised by the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board. He represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the event. The programme aimed to educate and spiritually prepare pilgrims for the Hajj rites before their journey to Saudi Arabia.
Practical Demonstration Prepared Pilgrims for Hajj Rites
Garo explained that the exercise focused on teaching pilgrims the major stages of Hajj. These included Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i, Arafat, Muzdalifah, Mina, and the symbolic stoning of the Jamarat.
He stressed the importance of proper preparation for the spiritual journey.
According to him, Hajj requires discipline, patience, sincerity, and total devotion to Allah.
Garo said the practical demonstration remained an essential part of the preparation process because it helps pilgrims understand the rites correctly.
Kano Pilgrims Advised to Obey Saudi Laws
The Deputy Governor urged intending pilgrims to act responsibly throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia.
He advised them to obey Saudi laws and remain good ambassadors of Kano State and Nigeria.
He also encouraged the pilgrims to show humility, discipline, and respect during the pilgrimage.
Government Provides Accommodation and Medical Support
Garo revealed that the Kano State Government had secured comfortable accommodation arrangements for all pilgrims.
He added that the administration deployed trained medical personnel to support healthcare services during the exercise.
According to him, qualified Islamic scholars will also guide pilgrims spiritually throughout the Hajj period.
Furthermore, he said the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf remains committed to the welfare and well-being of all pilgrims from Kano State.
