Popular Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has died at the age of 40 after battling cancer for several months. Family sources confirmed that the actor died on Monday, May 11, 2026. The tragic incident happened after a prolonged illness, according to reports by The Sun Nigeria. His death has thrown Nollywood and the Nigerian entertainment industry into mourning as colleagues, fans and public figures continue to pay tribute to his life and career.

His relationship with US-based model Fancy Acholonu attracted major public attention. The couple got engaged in 2021. However, they later cancelled their wedding plans the same year.
