The Federal Government of Nigeria has warned the public against a fake organisation operating as the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.” The disclaimer followed reports that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi claimed he received an appointment from the Office of the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The government issued the warning to protect Nigerians, foreign missions, financial institutions, and development partners from possible deception.
Government Denies Existence of the Organisation
According to the Office of the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the so-called Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council does not exist under the current administration.
The office also clarified that it has never appointed Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi to any position linked to the alleged organisation.
Officials urged members of the public to ignore any claims suggesting otherwise.
Foreign Missions and Institutions Asked to Take Note
The Federal Government advised foreign and diplomatic missions, financial institutions, multilateral organisations, development partners, and security agencies to disregard any representation made by Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi on behalf of the alleged council.
Furthermore, the government stressed that no office bearing that name operates within the Federal Government.
Government Urges Public to Remain Vigilant
The government encouraged Nigerians and international partners to verify official appointments through recognised government channels before engaging with individuals claiming presidential authority.
It reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the integrity of government institutions and preventing fraudulent activities carried out in the name of the Presidency.
