Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election, citing political analysts’ assessments and current political developments. Barau made the prediction on Sunday in Kano State during the inauguration of campaign committees for Dawakin Tofa, Tofa and Rimin Gado Local Government Areas. He urged All Progressives Congress (APC) members to unite, mobilise voters and secure victory for the party’s candidates across all levels.
Barau Expresses Confidence in Tinubu’s 2027 Victory
Barau said political analysts’ assessments and the current political situation favour Tinubu’s re-election.
He also expressed optimism about the President’s performance during his first term.
According to him, Tinubu’s administration has laid a foundation that will produce positive results during his second term.
“Based on the assessments of political analysts and the current state of Nigerian politics, all indications suggest that, by Allah’s grace, Bola Tinubu will win the presidential election,” he said.
APC Leaders Urged to Mobilise Voters
The Deputy Senate President urged committee members to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He explained that the committees include party leaders, executive members and former and serving lawmakers.
They also comprise councillors, local government chairmen, new party members and respected community elders.
Barau charged the members to campaign vigorously and secure victory for every APC candidate.
“What is required of you is to play your part actively in securing victory. Mobilise, campaign and ensure that all APC candidates emerge victorious from top to bottom.
“May Allah grant us success and enable us to achieve our goals,” he said.
Barau Highlights Kano’s Political Importance
Barau described Kano as one of Nigeria’s largest states and a major political force.
He noted that Kano ranks second only to Lagos in the number of registered voters.
Consequently, he said the state deserves greater attention and development opportunities from the Federal Government.
He also praised Governor Abba Yusuf’s decision to leave the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for the APC.
According to Barau, the governor’s defection represents a strategic political move.
He added that the decision has strengthened Kano’s political relevance and improved its chances of attracting federal development projects.
APC Unity Expected to Boost Kano’s Development
Furthermore, Barau said cooperation among APC political officeholders would strengthen the party’s position in Kano.
He identified the governor, local government chairmen, councillors, state lawmakers and National Assembly members as key stakeholders.
He believes their alignment under the APC will help translate political strength into meaningful development.
Meanwhile, Barau commended party leaders and elected representatives for supporting the APC.
He also appreciated Governor Yusuf and other stakeholders for their contributions.
The Deputy Senate President expressed confidence that the party would maintain its unity and cooperation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to a statement by his media aide, Ismail Mudashir, Barau made the remarks during Sunday’s inauguration ceremony.
