Cubana Chief Priest Retains Imo State Leadership in City Boy Movement

By Elizabeth Ugbo

The City Boy Movement (CBM) confirmed on Tuesday in Abuja that Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, remains the official Director of the movement in Imo State, refuting claims of internal leadership changes.

CBM Denies Internal Leadership Changes

CBM Director-General, Francis Shoga, described reports suggesting a leadership review or parallel appointments as misleading and false. He stated, “The only officially recognised and duly appointed figure in Imo remains Mr Pascal Okechukwu.”

Shoga stressed that no new appointments have been issued or validated. He added that any claims of internal disputes or withdrawal of appointments do not reflect CBM’s official position.

Clear Procedures Govern Appointments

The Director-General emphasised that CBM follows strict procedures and due process in all matters relating to appointments and state coordination. Any official decision is communicated only through authorised channels.

He said, “The City Boy Movement remains a structured and disciplined organisation. Any ambiguity arising from recent correspondence is a ploy to discredit the group’s integrity.”

Focus on Unity and Grassroots Mobilisation

CBM continues to prioritise grassroots mobilisation and the advancement of the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Shoga added, “All members remain united, mobilising support, consolidating structures, and delivering on our mandate to support President Bola Tinubu’s vision for national development.”

He urged members and the public to disregard unverified reports that could cause confusion, reaffirming CBM’s commitment to unity, transparency, and organisational discipline across all states.
