The attack caused panic across the community. Residents fled in different directions as gunmen opened fire.

“It was terrifying. People were running in all directions as the gunmen fired at the soldiers and set the trucks ablaze,” another witness said.

During the assault, the attackers burned two military gun trucks, worsening the destruction.

Several military and police officers died in the ambush, although authorities have not confirmed the exact number.

Local sources confirmed that at least two civilians also lost their lives in the attack.

Armed groups often launch ambushes before escaping into forests or remote locations.

Security agencies continue joint operations to curb the violence. However, difficult terrain and limited intelligence still hinder progress.

Residents now call for stronger surveillance and faster response to prevent future attacks.
