Iran Threatens US Tech Giants Over Alleged Assassination Links

By Elizabeth Ugbo

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards issued a fresh warning on Tuesday, April 1, 2026, in Tehran, saying they will target major US tech companies if Iranian leaders are assassinated again. The group named firms like Apple, Google, and Meta, accusing them of aiding operations against Iranian officials. The Guards said the retaliation would begin at 8:00 pm Tehran time and urged workers to evacuate immediately.

Iran Threatens US Tech Giants

The Revolutionary Guards warned that several global firms could face direct retaliation. These include Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, Tesla, Nvidia, and Palantir Technologies.

According to the statement, these companies allegedly support surveillance and tracking systems. Iran claims such systems help identify assassination targets.

Furthermore, the Guards advised employees to leave offices immediately. They stressed that remaining in those locations could put lives at risk.

Escalating US-Iran Tensions

Meanwhile, Donald Trump said he is pursuing diplomacy to end the conflict. However, he also warned that the United States could intensify joint operations with Israel.

Iran, on the other hand, accused Washington and its allies of ignoring repeated warnings. The Guards insisted that tech firms play a “central role” in planning attacks on Iranian leaders.

Retaliation Threat Extends Globally

The warning did not specify exact locations for potential strikes. However, the Guards urged residents near these companies worldwide to evacuate a one-kilometre radius.

This broad alert has raised concerns about possible global security risks. It also signals a shift toward targeting corporate infrastructure.

Recent Attacks on Infrastructure

Earlier in March, Amazon confirmed that two of its data centres in the United Arab Emirates were hit by drones. Another facility in Bahrain suffered damage from a nearby strike.

These incidents highlight the growing reach of the conflict beyond traditional military targets.

Iranian Leadership Losses

The crisis follows major losses within Iran’s leadership. Supreme leader Ali Khamenei and Revolutionary Guards commander Mohammad Pakpour were killed at the start of the war on February 28.

Additionally, senior official Ali Larijani and other prominent figures also died in the attacks.

While the US and Israel say these strikes weakened Iran, analysts argue that the country remains resilient.

Iran Targets Israeli Infrastructure

In response, Iran’s army said it launched drone strikes on key Israeli facilities. The targets reportedly included industrial and communication centres linked to Siemens and AT&T.

However, Israeli authorities have not confirmed these strikes.
