France Stay Strong Despite Red Card
France extended their lead after the break even when reduced to ten men. Dayot Upamecano received a red card for a last-man foul on Wesley. However, Hugo Ekitike scored in the 65th minute to double the advantage. Didier Deschamps praised his team’s discipline and control after the dismissal.
Brazil Fight Back but Fall Short
Brazil responded late through Bremer, who finished a low cross from Luiz Henrique. Despite pressure, Brazil could not find an equaliser before full-time. The match exposed their lack of cutting edge in attack.
Mbappé Subbed Off as Brazil Miss Neymar
Igor Thiago made his debut after replacing Matheus Cunha but had little impact. Brazil also missed Neymar due to fitness issues. Coach Carlo Ancelotti used the match to test squad depth and tactics. Mbappé left in the 66th minute for Marcus Thuram after returning from a knee injury.
