NiDCOM Releases Emergency Hotlines for Nigerians in Middle East Amid Iran Conflict

By Elizabeth Ugbo

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) on Sunday released emergency hotline numbers for Nigerians living or travelling in parts of the Middle East, following rising tensions linked to the Iran conflict. The advisory targets Nigerians in countries such as the UAE, Israel, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. NiDCOM said the move aims to provide urgent consular support and ensure citizens can quickly reach Nigerian missions for help as the regional security situation evolves.

NiDCOM Lists Nigerian Missions Covered by Advisory

According to NiDCOM, the emergency support covers several Nigerian diplomatic missions across the Middle East.

The advisory includes Nigerian missions in:

  • Abu Dhabi
  • Dubai
  • Kuwait City
  • Tel Aviv
  • Doha
  • Beirut
  • Riyadh
  • Jeddah
  • Amman

Each mission now operates dedicated emergency contact lines for Nigerians who may need immediate assistance.

Nigerians Urged to Stay Alert and Follow Safety Instructions

NiDCOM urged Nigerians in the affected countries to remain vigilant. The commission also advised them to follow safety instructions issued by local authorities.

In addition, Nigerians should maintain regular contact with Nigerian embassies and consulates for updates.

Officials said the hotlines will help citizens quickly report emergencies and obtain consular support.

Advisory Shared on Official X Platform

NiDCOM published the advisory in a public notice on its official account on X.

The commission asked Nigerians abroad to save the emergency numbers. It also urged them to immediately contact the nearest Nigerian mission during distress or security threats.

Rising Middle East Tensions Raise Safety Concerns

Meanwhile, concerns continue to grow over the wider impact of the Iran-related conflict across the Middle East.

Security analysts warn that escalating tensions could affect foreign nationals in several Gulf and Levant countries.

Therefore, NiDCOM encouraged Nigerians to rely only on verified information and take necessary precautions until the situation stabilize.
