Nollywood Crew Members Found Dead in Lagos Movie Set

By Elizabeth Ugbo

Two Nollywood production crew members, Godstime Imeh and Walter Odediran, were found dead on Saturday, February 7, 2026, inside a parked car at a movie set in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, prompting an investigation by SCID, Yaba. The cause of their deaths remains under investigation.

Victims Identified

The deceased were identified as Godstime Imeh, a lighting director and CEO of GeeTee Light, and Walter Odediran, a creative video director popularly known as Director Carrinqton. The movie they were working on was directed by former Big Brother Naija housemate, Boma.

Timeline of Events

According to sources, the two men arrived early to set up lighting equipment. After finishing around mid-morning, they rested inside Imeh’s tinted Nissan car while waiting for further instructions. At about 11 a.m., a crew member delivered breakfast of yam and omelette. Both men were seen reclining with the air-conditioning on.

Concerns arose when calls to their phones went unanswered by noon. Later in the evening, colleagues discovered them lifeless inside the vehicle.

Family Reaction

Speaking to Vanguard, Kola Odediran, elder brother of Walter, said:
“Walter and I were like twin brothers. He was 36 and the last-born of our family. He was very close to Godstime Imeh. They worked hand-in-hand on movie productions.”

He recounted the final hours:
“On Saturday, February 7, they had a medical scene to shoot at Evercare Hospital. Around 10 a.m., they decided to take a break inside GeeTee’s car. Food was delivered to them; that was the last time anyone saw them alive. Around 7 or 8 p.m., after shooting wrapped, they were found inside the car. My brother was seated upright with foam at his mouth, while GeeTee was slumped, with blood from his nose, eyes, and mouth. It appeared whatever happened occurred suddenly.”

Police Investigation

Odediran criticized the initial police response, noting that the case was first reported at Maroko Police Station but lacked urgency. It was later escalated to SCID, Yaba, where it was officially documented as an unnatural death.

Authorities confirmed questioning the film producer, the food vendor, the staff member who delivered the meal, and the hospital management. The food vendor remains in custody.

Possible Causes

Investigators are examining environmental factors, possible ingestion of harmful substances, and mechanical issues, including exposure to industrial generators above the parking space.

Forensic procedures, including autopsy, toxicology tests, vehicle inspection, and CCTV review, are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death. SCID said all possibilities remain open pending laboratory analyses.

“It has been very difficult for our family. My mother is devastated. He was the last-born. We were just two male children. This has been extremely painful for us,” Kola Odediran added.
