NUSA Condemns Killing of Isaac David Satlat in South Africa

By Elizabeth Ugbo

The Nigerian Union South Africa (NUSA) has condemned the killing of 22-year-old Isaac David Satlat in South Africa.
The tragic incident occurred barely a week after the murder of Emeka Uzor in Johannesburg.

Satlat, a young e-hailing driver, was allegedly attacked by three suspects.
Although investigations are ongoing, one suspect has already been arrested.
The arrested suspect is scheduled to appear in court on February 16.

However, authorities are still searching for the remaining suspects.

NUSA President Reacts to the Tragedy

In a statement released on Sunday, NUSA President, Attorney Smart Nwobi, described the killing as senseless.
He noted that the act abruptly ended the life of a promising young man.

Furthermore, Nwobi urged law enforcement agencies to intensify their efforts.
He also expressed confidence in South Africa’s judicial system.
According to him, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) will ensure justice is served.

Call for Justice and Community Unity

Meanwhile, Nwobi extended condolences to the victim’s family and friends.
He stressed that no family should endure such a painful loss.

In addition, NUSA called on both South Africans and foreign nationals to unite against crime.
The union emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence among all residents.
Therefore, NUSA reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with authorities.

Emeka Uzor’s Recent Killing Raises Concern

The statement also followed the recent death of Emeka Uzor in Johannesburg.
Uzor was shot dead on February 9 in the Windsor area.
Authorities, however, described the operation as anti-drug related.

Consequently, the back-to-back incidents have raised concerns within the Nigerian community in South Africa.
