NYSC Opens Online Registration Portal for Prospective Corps Members March 12–18

By Elizabeth Ugbo

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that its online portal will open for prospective corps members to register for mobilisation from March 12 to March 18, 2026 in Nigeria. The scheme released the notice through a flyer shared on its social media platforms on Friday, directing eligible graduates to complete their registration within the specified period.

NYSC Announces Registration Window

According to the scheme, only graduates whose names appear on the approved Senate or Academic Board lists uploaded by their institutions can register.

The notice urged prospective corps members to confirm that their institutions have uploaded their details before starting the process.

The flyer read:

“Attention, Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), I am happy to inform you that the NYSC portal will be opened for online registration from March 12 to March 18, 2026.”

Eligibility Requirements for Prospective Corps Members

The scheme explained that only PCMs with Senate or Academic Board approved results can register.

Additionally, institutions must upload the candidates’ details on the NYSC portal before registration begins.

The agency advised graduates to visit the official website and social media pages for complete registration guidelines.

Verify Details on Senate List Before Registration

Furthermore, the NYSC directed applicants to verify their information through the Senate list verification portal.

This step ensures that each applicant’s academic record is valid before proceeding with the online registration.

The agency stressed that graduates must check their names and personal details carefully before completing the process.

Ensure Names Match Official Records

The scheme also emphasised the need for consistent personal records.

Graduates must ensure that the name on their National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) record matches the name on the Senate list and the NYSC portal.

In addition, their names must correspond with those on their certificates or statements of results.

FG Tightens Measures Against Certificate Fraud

Meanwhile, the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, recently introduced stricter measures to curb certificate fraud.

He warned that graduates without proper documentation would not qualify for mobilisation under the NYSC scheme.

The minister explained that the Federal Government is strengthening academic records management to protect the credibility of Nigeria’s education system.

Education Data Reforms Underway

Alausa disclosed this during a national capacity-building programme supporting the Nigeria Education Repository and Data Bank.

According to him, the initiative will improve institutional compliance and strengthen verification of academic records across the country.
