President Tinubu to Visit Adamawa for One-Day Official Engagement

Yola, Adamawa – President Bola Tinubu will visit Adamawa State on Monday, February 17, 2026, to inaugurate multiple government projects. The visit, confirmed by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, James Iliya, aims to showcase the developmental achievements of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration.

Inauguration of Key Development Projects

According to Commissioner Iliya, the president’s visit will mark the commissioning of several major infrastructural projects. These include the newly constructed underpass at Bekaji Roundabout, the expanded Bank Road in Yola, and a model school in Yola North Local Government Area.

The model school is one of 21 newly built across the state, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving educational facilities.

Groundbreaking and Commissioning Ceremonies

Tinubu is also expected to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for a new NYSC permanent orientation camp in Malkohi. Additionally, he will commission the ultra-modern High Court Complex, unveil the automated gate at Government House, and inaugurate the newly constructed Governor’s Office complex.

These initiatives cover critical sectors such as education, infrastructure, governance, security, healthcare, and human capital development.

Call for Peaceful Conduct

Commissioner Iliya urged residents to remain law-abiding and participate peacefully in the welcome activities. He encouraged citizens, regardless of political affiliations, to turn out in large numbers to demonstrate Adamawa’s unity and hospitality.

Security Arrangements

The Adamawa State Police Command has deployed personnel and operational assets across the state. Commissioner of Police Morris Dankombo confirmed that units including the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Surveillance Squad, and Crowd/Traffic Control Unit are actively involved to ensure a secure visit.
