Renewed Hope Ambassadors to Recruit 98,325 Canvassers in Ondo for 2027 Election

By Elizabeth Ugbo

The Ondo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Victor Olabimtan, on Tuesday in Akure announced that Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the recruitment of 98,325 canvassers across 3,933 polling units in Ondo State ahead of the 2027 presidential election. He explained that the initiative will mobilise voters, strengthen grassroots engagement, and support the President’s re-election bid through structured outreach.

RHA Targets Grassroots Mobilisation

Olabimtan said the recruitment drive forms a key part of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ nationwide strategy. The programme aims to connect federal policies directly with citizens at the grassroots.

He explained that each polling unit will have 25 canvassers. In addition, each canvasser must convince at least five voters. Therefore, the strategy will significantly boost voter mobilisation across the state.

Promoting Government Policies and Feedback

According to Olabimtan, the initiative will also improve communication between the government and the people. He noted that ambassadors will share accurate information about federal programmes.

Furthermore, they will gather feedback from local communities. This approach ensures that government policies reflect citizens’ needs and realities.

Strengthening APC Structures in Ondo

Olabimtan urged members to actively engage with party structures across the state. He stressed the importance of unity within the All Progressives Congress.

He added that members must work closely with leaders at state, local government, and ward levels. This collaboration will ensure consistent messaging and stronger political coordination.

No Conflict with Existing Support Groups

However, Olabimtan clarified that the new initiative will not disrupt existing Tinubu support groups. Instead, it will complement their activities and improve coordination.

He also commended Lucky Aiyedatiwa for supporting the selection process. He assured that the ambassadors will deliver on their mandate.

Financial Support for Canvassers

Olabimtan revealed that canvassers will receive direct payments. The government will pay them three months before and two months after the election.

He noted that both President Tinubu and Governor Aiyedatiwa will fund the initiative. This funding aims to sustain commitment and ensure effective mobilisation.

Focus on Polling Units Strategy

He emphasised that elections are won at the polling unit level. Therefore, the strategy prioritises direct voter engagement at that level.

With this structure in place, Olabimtan expressed confidence in achieving electoral victory nationwide.
