Tinubu Applauds Kebbi Governor at Argungu Fishing Festival, Reaffirms Commitment to Security and Food Sufficiency

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday attended the grand finale of the Argungu International Fishing Festival in Argungu, Kebbi State, where he commended Governor Nasir Idris for his infrastructural projects and leadership, praised the Emir of Argungu and the Sultan of Sokoto for honouring the occasion, and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity and boosting agriculture.

The President described the festival as a remarkable cultural heritage that has endured for decades. He noted that the event represents Nigeria’s rich history and unity. He also applauded the organisers for sustaining the festival over the years.

Tinubu commended Governor Idris, calling him a team leader whose efforts have positioned Kebbi State as a growing tourism destination. He praised the execution of projects in the state, including the ultramodern secretariat.

Reaffirming his government’s resolve to end insecurity, Tinubu said the war against banditry would be won. He assured Nigerians that farmers would soon return safely to their farms across the country.

The President further pledged federal support to Kebbi State to enhance food production nationwide. He emphasized the need for food sufficiency through massive agricultural investment.

Additionally, Tinubu reiterated his commitment to promoting renewable energy as a sustainable solution for electricity generation in the state.

In his welcome address, Governor Nasir Idris thanked the President for visiting Kebbi State and participating in the historic festival.
