President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Abagun Kole Omololu, a leading chieftain of Afenifere, on his 70th birthday, celebrated on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Nigeria, to honour his decades-long commitment to democracy, nation-building and the preservation of Yoruba heritage, in a goodwill message issued to mark the milestone.In the message, the President praised Abagun Omololu’s enduring character, describing him as a man of integrity, loyalty and steadfast dedication to public service and the cultural values of the Yoruba people.President Tinubu noted that Abagun Omololu has, for decades, remained at the forefront of the struggle for democracy and good governance, while consistently promoting unity and solidarity across Yorubaland.Recalling his pro-democracy efforts, the President said Abagun Omololu was part of NADECO Abroad, which took the campaign for the validation of the June 12 mandate and the end of military rule in Nigeria to the international community. He added that Abagun remains a prominent member of Idile Odua.“As a leader within Afenifere, his principled stance on national issues and his unwavering support for the leadership of Baba Reuben Fasoranti stand out,” the President said.President Tinubu also acknowledged Abagun Omololu’s consistent support for his administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda.He concluded by praying for Abagun Omololu’s long life, good health, and God’s continued grace and wisdom as he attains the biblical age of three score and ten.
