President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised philanthropist Sir Emeka Offor for distributing medical books to Nigerian institutions. He gave the commendation in Nigeria after the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation arranged the delivery of medical and nursing textbooks from the United States. The books will support tertiary medical institutions across the six geopolitical zones. The initiative followed a request from the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
Foundation Ships Medical Books from the United States
The foundation procured and shipped ten 40-foot containers of updated medical and nursing books and journals from the United States to Nigeria.
Furthermore, the books will reach tertiary medical institutions across the country. The distribution aims to improve training resources for students and lecturers in medical fields.
Initiative to Strengthen Healthcare Education
President Tinubu said the donation will strengthen healthcare education in Nigerian institutions. According to him, the initiative will also boost academic capacity in medical schools.
Moreover, improved access to modern textbooks will support the training of healthcare professionals.
Tinubu Applauds Offor’s Commitment to Development
The President also thanked Offor, the chief executive of Chrome Group, for supporting programmes that promote education and healthcare.
In addition, Tinubu encouraged the philanthropist to continue funding projects that improve human capital development in Nigeria.
Call for Continued Philanthropy
Finally, the President urged Offor not to relent in supporting initiatives that benefit society. He noted that private sector contributions remain vital to national development.
