Troops of Operation Hadin Kai achieved fresh victories in Adamawa and Borno states on Friday, securing arrests and neutralising insurgents. Military officials reported these developments to the press, highlighting efforts to disrupt insurgent operations and restore regional security.
Drone Supplier Arrested in Madagali
In Adamawa State, troops, working with local vigilantes and hunters, arrested 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula at Madagali Motor Park. Authorities allege he supplied drones to insurgents.
Recovered items included:
- Two aerial drones
- Drone accessories
- 20 solar power banks
The military confirmed the drones were to be modified for attacks against troops.
Insurgent Commander Neutralised Along Visik River
Troops of Sector 4 ambushed and neutralised insurgent commander Abdullahi Mafa along the Visik River line. Officials recovered an AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine at the scene.
Logistics Supplier Apprehended in Hong LGA
The 28 Task Force Brigade arrested 28-year-old Ismail Muhammed, a logistics supplier, in the Visik General Area, Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa.
Recovered items included:
- AK-47 magazine
- 7.62mm ammunition rounds
- Military accoutrements
- Assorted foodstuffs
He is currently in custody for further investigation.
Insurgent Activities Repelled in Ngamdu, Borno
Troops in Sector 2, collaborating with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), successfully repelled insurgent attacks in Ngamdu, Borno State. The operation also neutralised an alleged informant attempting to breach defensive positions, with logistics items recovered during the operation.
Military High Command Commends Troops
The Nigerian Military High Command praised the troops’ dedication and sacrifices in the fight against insurgency. Authorities urged continued operational momentum to secure communities in the North-East.
