Trump and FIFA Announce Gaza Soccer Reconstruction
Former US President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced on Thursday in Washington, D.C., a $75 million initiative to rebuild Gaza’s soccer facilities destroyed during the Israel-Hamas conflict, aiming to support post-war recovery and youth development.
Board of Peace Formed to Aid Gaza
Trump launched the program at the first meeting of his “Board of Peace,” a group of two dozen close allies. The board initially focuses on rebuilding Gaza but plans to expand humanitarian projects in conflict-affected areas.
Trump said, “We’ll soon be detailing the announcement, and if I can, I’ll get over there with you.”
FIFA to Lead Fundraising and Construction
FIFA will oversee fundraising and construction, including a football academy, a 20,000-seat national stadium, and dozens of pitches across Gaza.
The organization stated funds would come from international leaders and institutions, while Trump mentioned the $75 million target directly.
Infantino, wearing a red baseball cap reading “USA 45-47,” described the collaboration as a “landmark partnership agreement” to support recovery through football.

Soccer as a Tool for Peace

Trump added, “You’re getting the greatest stars in the world to go there — people bigger stars than you and I, Gianni.”
