Governor Visits Affected Communities

Babagana Zulum on Friday visited communities affected by the Ngoshe attack in Gwoza Local Government Area. He met residents in Pulka to sympathise with victims. The governor addressed the community after a deadly assault by Boko Haram insurgents earlier in the week.

During the visit, Zulum assured residents that the government and military will rescue abducted victims, restore security, and support displaced families.

Relief Materials and Food Support for Victims

Zulum announced immediate humanitarian support for residents whose homes were destroyed.

The state government has started distributing relief materials to affected families. Authorities also established cooking points to provide daily meals to displaced residents.

“For now, we will distribute food items to those affected,” the governor said. “Cooking points will ensure everyone receives meals from a central kitchen.”

In addition, the governor urged residents to remain calm and law-abiding despite the tragedy.

Zulum Inspects Burned Houses in Konduga

Earlier, the governor inspected houses burned during another insurgent attack in Konduga.

He described the destruction as heartbreaking and pledged stronger government action.

“I strongly believe that with sustained military operations and cooperation from all levels of government, we will overcome this challenge,” Zulum said.

He added that peace would return to Borno State.

Military Operations Ongoing in Sambisa Forest

Zulum revealed that military operations are currently ongoing in the notorious Sambisa Forest.

According to him, insurgents recently launched attacks after security forces pushed them out of their strongholds.

“What happened was largely a result of insurgents fleeing their bases and attacking nearby communities,” he explained.

Governor Calls for Stronger Action in Mandara Hills

The governor also urged the Nigerian military to intensify operations in the Mandara Mountains.

He described the hills as a major security threat to nearby communities.

“The insurgents descended from the hills to attack this town,” Zulum said. “The Nigerian Army must clear the area.”

Casualties Yet to Be Confirmed

Authorities are still assessing the full impact of the attack.

However, the governor confirmed that several residents died while insurgents abducted others.

Zulum promised that security forces will continue efforts to rescue those kidnapped.

Governor Condoles with Victims

Addressing residents, the governor expressed deep sympathy for families who lost loved ones.

“We are here to commiserate with the people of Ngoshe,” he said. “This tragic incident has caused great pain.”

He assured the community that the government will intensify efforts to restore peace and stability across Borno State.
