South African model Phumzile Ntashabele has demanded life imprisonment for suspects accused of killing 22-year-old Nigerian e-hailing driver Isaac Satlat in Pretoria, South Africa. The incident occurred after Isaac responded to a ride request. Authorities later arrested the suspects following the circulation of a viral video. Ntashabele insists the court must deny them bail and parole to ensure justice for Isaac Satlat.
“They Don’t Deserve Bail”
Ntashabele condemned the suspects’ actions. She said one woman allegedly held Isaac’s legs while he fought for his life.
According to her, the suspects showed no remorse in court. She also claimed one of the accused smiled during proceedings.
“They are criminals. They deserve life imprisonment,” she said firmly.
South Africa does not enforce the death penalty. However, she argued that life imprisonment without parole would serve justice.
How the Arrest Happened
A disturbing video of the attack circulated widely online. Consequently, the public identified one female suspect.
Ntashabele explained that the exposure forced the woman to surrender. Activists continue to circulate images to support investigations.
Furthermore, she called on Africans living in South Africa to unite. She stressed that the case affects all African nations, not only Nigerians or South Africans.
Call for Financial Support
Beyond legal justice, Ntashabele appealed for financial assistance. She wants to help Isaac’s father return his body home.
Supporters have already created payment channels. They continue to share links across social media platforms.
She urged Africans to contribute and stand in solidarity with the grieving family.
Who Is Phumzile Ntashabele?
Ntashabele described herself as a widow, mother of two, and motivational speaker. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
She currently holds the title of Mrs Global Universe South Africa 2025. She said she always stands for justice.
Although many assume she is Isaac’s biological mother, she clarified the relationship. Isaac was her son Kagiso’s best friend.
“I’m like a godmother to him,” she explained.
Isaac’s Final Moments
Isaac worked as an intern at St. Julian while studying. He also modeled and drove part-time in the e-hailing business.
On the day of the incident, he returned from work and went to the gym. Shortly after, he received a ride notification.
He told friends he would return within 15 minutes. Sadly, they never saw him alive again.
Ntashabele said the attackers did not steal his belongings. They found his phone, wallet, and passport inside the car.
Was It Xenophobia?
Ntashabele rejected claims of xenophobia. She insisted the suspects did not target Isaac because he was Nigerian.
“Nobody knew he was Nigerian,” she stated.
However, she acknowledged tensions between some South Africans and Nigerians. She said drug-related crimes fuel resentment in certain communities.
At the same time, she stressed that many Nigerians in South Africa are professionals and business owners.
Standing Against Stereotypes
Ntashabele has faced online criticism for supporting Isaac’s family. Some accused her of siding with foreigners.
Nevertheless, she remains resolute. She said she has maintained friendships with Nigerians for over 25 years.
“They are my family,” she said.
She also warned against scapegoating foreigners for South Africa’s challenges. According to her, internal divisions would persist even without immigration issues.
A United Call for Justice
Ntashabele continues to campaign for justice for Isaac Satlat. She demands life imprisonment without parole for the accused.
Moreover, she urges Africans across borders to unite. She believes justice for Isaac will send a strong message against violent crime in South Africa.
