President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Nigeria on Sunday from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport for France, marking the start of a three-nation diplomatic visit aimed at strengthening economic partnerships, attracting foreign investment, and deepening international cooperation.
Tinubu Heads to France for Africa–France Summit
Tinubu’s first stop is France, where he will attend the Africa–France Summit scheduled for May 11 to May 12. The summit will be co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.
The event will focus on energy transition, climate action, digital transformation, and economic cooperation. In addition, Tinubu will engage global leaders and investors to promote Nigeria’s economic interests.
Strategic Engagements to Boost Nigeria’s Economy
During the summit, the president plans to hold high-level meetings with investors and policymakers. These discussions will aim to strengthen Nigeria’s economic ties and attract new investments.
Furthermore, the presidency emphasized that these engagements will help position Nigeria as a key player in global economic development.
Next Stop: Nairobi for Africa CEO Forum
After France, Tinubu will travel to Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Africa CEO Forum from May 14 to May 15.
The forum will bring together top business leaders and policymakers across Africa. Participants will explore investment opportunities and discuss strategies to drive economic growth across the continent.
Final Leg: Kigali Visit to Strengthen Partnerships
From Kenya, Tinubu will proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, as part of the diplomatic tour.
The visit aims to expand partnerships and reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to regional cooperation and economic development.
