The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on Monday, June 22, 2026, presented Letters of Credence to Nigeria’s Ambassadors and High Commissioners-designate to Trinidad and Tobago, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, and Egypt in Abuja. The presentation followed the receipt of Agrément from the host countries, officially approving the envoys to serve as Nigeria’s principal diplomatic representatives. The move strengthens Nigeria’s diplomatic relations and supports the country’s foreign policy objectives.
63 of 69 Ambassadorial Appointments Receive Approval
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that 63 of the 69 ambassadors appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have received Agrément from their host nations.
The approved postings include key countries such as India and South Africa. Consequently, many of the ambassadors have already departed to their respective destinations to begin their diplomatic assignments.
Government Confident of Remaining Approvals
The ministry expressed confidence that the remaining countries will soon grant approval to the ambassadors assigned to their capitals.
According to the ministry, these approvals will further strengthen bilateral cooperation and deepen cordial diplomatic relations between Nigeria and its international partners.
