The Kogi State Government and political stakeholders on Monday assured President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of overwhelming support in the 2027 general elections during the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Presidential Media Team’s inspection of federal and state projects across the state. The leaders, who spoke in Gbede, Yagba West Local Government Area, said Tinubu’s reforms have boosted development in Kogi by increasing resources available to the state, prompting residents to reward his administration at the polls.
Kogi Government Links Support to Development Projects
The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said Kogi residents appreciate the Federal Government’s ongoing infrastructure projects.
According to him, the people want more developmental initiatives and will express their gratitude through their votes in 2027.
Fanwo explained that President Tinubu’s economic reforms have strengthened state finances. As a result, Kogi has executed several landmark projects across different sectors.
He maintained that supporting Tinubu in 2027 would encourage the continuation of policies that promote national growth and economic recovery.
Presidential Team Inspects Key Infrastructure
The inspection formed part of the third day of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Presidential Media Team’s tour of federal and state projects in Kogi State.
The delegation, led by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Chief Sunday Dare, visited several completed and ongoing projects.
These included:
- A 15-kilometre asphalted internal road network with drainage in Gbede.
- A newly completed Primary Health Centre.
- The reconstruction of the Kabba–Egbe–Omuaran–Ilorin Federal Road.
- Rural road networks in Okene.
- The Lokoja International Market, currently about 50 percent completed.
- The Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja.
Sunday Dare Says Renewed Hope Agenda Is Delivering Results
Speaking after the inspection, Sunday Dare said the projects demonstrate that the Renewed Hope Agenda is producing visible results across Nigeria.
He praised Governor Usman Ododo for investing in roads, healthcare, education, security and human capital development.
According to Dare, the state government’s priorities align closely with President Tinubu’s Eight-Point Agenda.
“We have just driven through a 15-kilometre internal road network. Development in this state is massive,” he said.
He also highlighted the Federal Government’s decision to reconstruct the Kabba–Ilorin Road after decades of neglect.
Dare noted that improved roads would enhance transportation, support businesses and ease the movement of goods nationwide.
Infrastructure Remains Tinubu’s Priority
Dare stressed that infrastructure remains central to President Tinubu’s economic agenda.
He noted that the administration has embarked on five legacy road projects and more than 300 road projects nationwide.
He also pointed to the revitalisation of over 1,000 Primary Health Centres across Nigeria.
According to him, the government’s investments are transforming healthcare, education, agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure and the oil and gas sector.
Local Leaders Commend Governor Ododo
Yagba West Local Government Chairman, Tosin Olokun, welcomed the delegation to Egbe.
He commended Governor Ododo for delivering significant infrastructure projects and appointing qualified sons of the community into his cabinet.
Similarly, the Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, Joseph Oluwasegun, praised the governor’s commitment to inclusive development.
Okene Projects Highlight Grassroots Development
In Okene, Commissioner for Works Barrister Deedat showcased several infrastructure projects.
The delegation inspected concrete-paved inner roads, major bridges and erosion control works.
Deedat applauded Governor Ododo’s commitment to grassroots development.
He also praised President Tinubu’s reforms, expressing confidence that Kogi would remain firmly behind the President in the 2027 elections.
Tinubu’s Road Investments Will Boost the Economy
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Engagement, Fredrick Nwabufo, said infrastructure investments remain vital to national economic growth.
He explained that quality roads improve transportation, stimulate commerce and create opportunities across multiple sectors.
According to Nwabufo, the Tinubu administration understands the long-term economic value of infrastructure and continues to prioritise it nationwide.
