The House of Representatives Committee investigating the Public-Private Infrastructure and Financing Commission (PFIPC) has uncovered 12 allegedly fake agencies and 58 bank accounts linked to its Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi. The lawmakers made the discovery during their investigation into the commission’s activities. They also alleged widespread forgery of government documents and possible abuse of public office. Consequently, the committee recommended Adeyemi’s prosecution after relevant security and anti-graft agencies conclude their investigations.

Reps Committee Uncovers More Alleged Fake Agencies

The committee expanded its investigation into the activities of the PFIPC after earlier discoveries raised concerns.

According to the lawmakers, investigators identified 12 additional agencies that allegedly lacked legitimate government backing.

The committee also traced 58 bank accounts to Adeniyi Adeyemi. However, the findings remain subject to further investigations by the appropriate authorities.

Meanwhile, the lawmakers raised concerns over possible institutional failures within the commission.

Lawmakers Raise Forgery Allegations

The committee also accused Adeyemi of links to alleged widespread forgery of government documents.

The lawmakers said the development raises serious questions about the use of public office.

Furthermore, they expressed concerns about possible abuse of government institutions.

The committee believes relevant agencies should examine the allegations thoroughly.

Committee Recommends Prosecution

Following its findings, the House committee called for Adeyemi’s prosecution.

However, the lawmakers made the recommendation subject to the conclusion of investigations by security and anti-corruption agencies.

The committee said these agencies must establish the facts surrounding the allegations.

Therefore, investigators are expected to review the documents, accounts and other evidence linked to the case.

Findings to Go Before Relevant Authorities

The committee said it would forward its findings to the appropriate authorities.

The move will allow relevant agencies to take further action based on the evidence.

Meanwhile, the investigation could expose additional details about the alleged fake agencies and bank accounts.

Authorities may also determine whether any laws were violated during the alleged activities.

The House committee’s findings could therefore lead to further investigations and possible legal action.
