Today, I celebrate the woman who has walked beside me through every season of life, offering patience, grace, courage and unwavering support. Through difficult moments and joyful times, you have remained my closest companion, trusted confidante and steadfast friend.
A Wife Who Has Been My Strength
Àwọn àgbà sọ pé, “Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀.” A good wife is her husband’s crown.
The Book of Proverbs also speaks beautifully about the worth of a virtuous woman. You have given those words a deeper meaning through your life and example.
You have stood beside me through every season. Moreover, burdens meant for me often found their way onto your shoulders.
Even thoughts I struggled to express somehow reached you. In difficult moments, when the future seemed uncertain, you remained calm beside me.
You prayed with me and gave me strength when I needed it most.
My Truest Friend and Confidante
Through the years, you have remained the person who understands me most deeply.
More often than not, you know when I need counsel before I ask. Sometimes, your presence alone has provided the guidance I needed.
I call you my truest friend and confidante because you always speak the truth. You do so even when I would rather not hear it.
After a demanding day, you often wait until we are alone. Then, you tell me exactly what I need to hear.
I have always treasured you for that honesty and courage.
Your Love Has Shaped Our Home
Our home carries the lasting imprint of your devotion.
Our children and grandchildren have grown under the shelter of your prayers. They carry your values of faith, kindness and compassion wherever life takes them.
Your influence extends far beyond our family. Nigerians know you for your compassion, generosity and steadfast faith.
I have watched you touch lives quietly and consistently. You have offered hope and support to people facing difficult circumstances.
A Life Dedicated to Serving Others
From the New Era Foundation during our years in Lagos to the Renewed Hope Initiative today, your compassion has reached many people.
Your efforts have supported young boys and girls, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across the country.
You have also stood with people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases. For many, you have become a compassionate advocate and determined champion.
Your commitment has never depended on recognition or applause.
I know the prayers you offer for people whose names you may never know. I also know many people you have helped without ever meeting them.
For you, compassion has never recognised boundaries of tribe, region or religion.
I Would Choose You Again
Your life continues to show the meaning of love, faith, service and sacrifice.
You have walked beside me through challenges and triumphs. You have strengthened our family and touched countless lives through your kindness.
Today, I celebrate you with gratitude.
