Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has led a Nigerian Air Force delegation to Texas, USA. The delegation visited Bell Textron in Amarillo for the beam signing ceremony. The event marks a major milestone in Nigeria’s acquisition of 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters. The acquisition forms part of Nigeria’s defence cooperation programme with the United States.
NAF Delegation Visits Bell Textron
The NAF delegation visited Bell Textron in Amarillo, Texas, for the signing ceremony. The ceremony marks progress in the acquisition of the 12 AH-1Z Viper helicopters.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed the development.
According to him, the milestone supports ongoing Nigeria-US defence cooperation.
It also highlights Nigeria’s efforts to modernise its Armed Forces.
Nigeria Strengthens Defence Capabilities
The AH-1Z Viper acquisition aligns with the Federal Government’s broader defence strategy.
The government aims to strengthen Nigeria’s defence and security architecture. It also seeks to equip the Armed Forces with modern operational capabilities.

Air Chief Appreciates Tinubu
Air Marshal Aneke expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He praised the President’s strategic leadership and continued support for national defence.
The Air Chief also acknowledged Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
The NAF said the support remains important to ongoing efforts to improve its operational capabilities.
