APC Will Win 2027 Despite Opposition, Says Jigawa Governor Namadi

By Elizabeth Ugbo

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win re-election in 2027, despite possible challenges from opposition figures such as former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Namadi made the statement on Sunday after participating in the APC presidential primary election at his polling ward in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State. He said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) enjoys strong support in the state and remains confident of securing more than one million votes for Tinubu in the next general election.

Namadi Targets Over One Million Votes for Tinubu

The governor restated his earlier commitment to mobilise more than one million votes for President Tinubu in Jigawa State.

According to him, the target remains realistic because of the party’s growing support base and voter strength across the state.

“This is democracy. Anybody can contest, but when Nigerians decide, the result will be clear,” Namadi said.

He added that the APC remains prepared for any political challenge ahead of the 2027 election.

“By God’s grace, we will deliver President Tinubu again in 2027,” he stated.

Jigawa Positioned as APC Stronghold

Namadi described Jigawa as one of the strongest support bases for the APC nationwide.

He noted that the state ranks among the leaders in voter registration and linked this to the party’s electoral confidence.

“You can see the number of people that came out. Jigawa is leading in voter registration, and that shows we are ready to achieve our target,” he said.

The governor argued that the turnout during the presidential primary reflected public trust in both President Tinubu and the APC administration.

Governor Dismisses Opposition Threat

Reacting to speculation that former President Goodluck Jonathan could contest under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Namadi dismissed concerns about opposition candidates.

He insisted that neither Jonathan nor former Vice President Atiku Abubakar poses a threat to APC’s chances in 2027.

According to him, party members demonstrated strong confidence through their participation in the presidential primary.

“As you can see, people came out massively for Bola Ahmed Tinubu and this is a clear indication of the confidence the people have in him and in the APC,” he said.

Namadi Praises Tinubu’s Commitment to Internal Democracy

The governor also commended President Tinubu for allowing the party’s internal democratic process to operate freely.

He said the orderly conduct of the APC presidential primary reflected the President’s commitment to democratic values.

“What is most important is internal democracy. The President allowed the democratic process to freely prevail and that shows he is a true democrat committed to the growth of democracy in Nigeria,” Namadi stated.

APC Predicts Victory Across All Levels in 2027

Looking ahead, Namadi expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in the next general election.

He said the outcome of the APC primary offered an early indication of broader electoral success.

“The result is glaring. By the grace of God, 2027 will be a walkover for APC because the people have confidence in the party and in the government,” he added.
