Afrobeats star Davido mistakenly attacked gospel artist Tosin Bee online after confusing him with a lawyer involved in his child custody case. The confusion arose during Davido’s emotional court proceedings over the custody of his daughter, Imade Adeleke, at the Lagos State High Court, Yaba, where he clashed with his estranged partner Sophia Momodu’s lawyer over sensitive remarks about his deceased son.
Davido had vented his frustration on Instagram, criticizing a lawyer he believed disrespected him in court. He then reposted Tosin Bee’s content, wrongly linking the artist to the lawyer, which triggered a backlash from fans targeting Tosin Bee.
Tosin Bee clarified the misunderstanding, explaining he had no connection to the lawyer and expressed sympathy for Davido’s situation. Social media users criticized the harassment and called for an apology while some noted the controversy increased Tosin Bee’s visibility.
Meanwhile, Davido confirmed on X that he would withdraw his custody case, emphasizing he only sought joint custody and condemning the lawyer’s reference to his late son as a “lowest blow.” Despite legal tensions, Imade continues to spend time with her father, highlighting ongoing co-parenting efforts.
