Governor Radda Chairs Emergency Security Meeting After Katsina Attack

Dikko Radda on Monday presided over an emergency Security Council meeting at the Government House in Katsina State, following a deadly bandit attack on Sayaya village in Matazu LGA that killed three people, including a police officer, to address rising insecurity and coordinate response efforts.


Security Chiefs, LG Chairmen Attend High-Level Meeting

The emergency session brought together top security stakeholders across the state.

Those present included representatives of the Nigerian Army, Defence Headquarters, and Department of State Services.

Officials from the Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps also attended.

In addition, agencies like the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Federal Fire Service, and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency participated.

Chairmen of affected local government areas joined the discussions. Traditional rulers and religious leaders also contributed insights.


Bandits Attack Sayaya Village, Kill Three

The meeting followed a violent attack on Sunday in Sayaya village, located in Matazu Local Government Area.

Bandits stormed the community and launched coordinated assaults.

They ambushed a police station and killed a police officer. They also attacked the Primary Health Care Centre.

Furthermore, the attackers looted several shops, leaving residents in distress.


Governor Visits Community, Assesses Damage

Earlier, Governor Radda visited the affected community to assess the situation.

He inspected damaged facilities, including the health centre and local businesses.

He also met residents and listened to their concerns.


Radda Offers Condolences, Assures Residents

During the visit, the governor expressed sympathy to the Divisional Police Officer and other officers.

He mourned the slain policeman and extended condolences to affected families.

Moreover, he reassured residents of the government’s commitment to restoring security.
