A group of Islamic scholars were reportedly abducted on September 12, 2026, during a prayer gathering at Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari’s residence in Talata Mafara, Zamfara State. The clerics had travelled from Bakura and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas to attend the gathering. However, details surrounding the reported abduction remain unclear.
Islamic Scholars Reportedly Abducted
Those reportedly abducted include:
- Imam Yahuza, First Jumma’at, Dogon Madacci
- Magawata Abdullahi, Second Jumma’at, Dogon Madacci
- Malam Shehu Dakko
- Imam Bala Fagon
- Na’ibi Tasi’u, Tungar Nagudai
According to the report, the clerics were attending a prayer gathering at Senator Yari’s residence when they were allegedly taken away.
They reportedly came from different communities across Bakura and Talata Mafara LGAs.
Abduction Raises Security Concerns
