Manchester City defeated Southampton 2-1 on Saturday at Wembley to reach a fourth consecutive FA Cup final. Pep Guardiola’s side fought back late after falling behind, with Nico Gonzalez scoring the winner three minutes from time. The victory keeps City on course for a domestic treble this season.

Slow Start as Southampton Hold Firm

City struggled early despite dominating possession. Southampton stayed compact and disciplined in defence.

Leo Scienza thought he had given the Saints an early lead. However, the goal was ruled out for offside.

Meanwhile, City failed to create clear chances. Their attack lacked sharpness in the first half.

Guardiola Turns to His Bench

After the break, Guardiola reacted quickly. He introduced Jérémy Doku, Savinho, and Nico O’Reilly.

The changes injected pace and urgency into City’s play.

Earlier, Omar Marmoush missed a golden chance. He fired over the bar before making way for Erling Haaland.

Southampton Strike First

Despite pressure, Southampton stunned City late in the game.

Kuryu Matsuki set up Finn Azaz, who turned sharply and scored a शानदार goal into the top corner.

The Championship side looked set for a famous victory. Their unbeaten run had already reached 20 matches.

City’s Late Comeback Seals Victory

However, City responded immediately.

Doku fired from the edge of the box. His shot deflected off James Bree and beat goalkeeper Daniel Peretz.

Moments later, Gonzalez struck again. He unleashed a powerful long-range effort that sealed the comeback.

Southampton could not recover after conceding twice in quick succession.

Southampton Fall Short Despite Strong Run

The defeat ended Southampton’s impressive unbeaten streak.

They had earlier eliminated Arsenal in the previous round.

However, they missed a golden chance to return to Wembley for the final.

City Chase Historic Domestic Treble

City now move closer to another historic achievement.

They aim to match their 2018/19 success by winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup again.

Guardiola’s men showed resilience and depth when it mattered most.
