The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on July 10, 2026, carried out precision airstrikes against a terrorist enclave in Yaganari, Gezuwa general area of Borno State, killing several fighters and destroying key infrastructure. The operation, executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, followed credible intelligence that revealed renewed terrorist activities, reinforcing the military’s campaign to eliminate terrorist hideouts across Nigeria.

Intelligence-Led Operation Hits Terrorist Targets

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before the attack.

The Air Force then launched a series of precision strikes on the identified locations.

“The targets were subsequently engaged in a series of precision strikes, leading to the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several terrorists,” the statement said.

Operation Weakens Terrorists’ Capabilities

The NAF stated that the latest operation significantly weakened the terrorists’ ability to regroup and move freely within the region.

It described the mission as another major success in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under Operation Hadin Kai.

Military authorities said the sustained offensive continues to deny terrorists safe operating bases while disrupting their logistics and movement.

Air Chief Reaffirms Commitment to Counter-Terrorism

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, praised the personnel who participated in the operation for their professionalism and dedication.

He reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustaining relentless pressure on terrorist groups.

“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge,” Aneke said.

He added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain focused on consolidating the gains achieved in ongoing operations.

“We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities,” he stated.

Military Sustains Pressure on Terrorist Groups

The latest strike highlights the Nigerian military’s continued reliance on intelligence-driven operations to dismantle terrorist networks in the North-East.

Security authorities maintain that coordinated air and ground operations will continue until terrorist groups lose the capacity to threaten communities across the country.
