The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the composition of its Presidential Campaign Council, demanding a review ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party expressed concerns over the exclusion of key members and inconsistencies in the council’s structure. It wants the leadership to accommodate more committed members and critical stakeholders to strengthen President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
Osun APC Raises Concerns Over Campaign Council
The party’s State Publicity Secretary, Wole Adunola, and other members of the State Working Committee issued a statement expressing their displeasure.
They faulted the omission of several State Working Committee members from the council.
According to the statement, these officials should qualify as statutory members of the Presidential Campaign Council.
The Osun APC also questioned the council’s composition and its consistency with an earlier presidential directive.
The directive reportedly named Governor Ademola Adeleke as the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council in Osun State.
Party Questions Emergence of New Campaign Structure
Furthermore, the party disagreed with the inauguration of a broad-based campaign team to coordinate Tinubu’s presidential campaign across the state.
It questioned why a different structure emerged without adequate clarification.
The party also expressed concerns over the apparent lack of alignment with the existing campaign arrangement.
According to the statement, stakeholders need clear explanations about the distinct roles and responsibilities of the various campaign structures.
Osun APC Seeks Inclusive Arrangement Ahead of 2027
The party urged the relevant leadership to review the council’s membership and accommodate more committed stakeholders.
It believes an inclusive structure will strengthen coordination and improve campaign effectiveness across Osun State.
The APC also stressed the importance of unity and proper organisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It maintained that all campaign structures must work together towards securing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
