The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State has denied a viral list of cleared and uncleared aspirants for the Rivers State House of Assembly election. The party issued the clarification on Tuesday after several media platforms circulated the document. Party officials said the screening committee, led by Mauriana Ajibola, completed its exercise less than 24 hours earlier. However, the party stressed that it had not released any official screening results. The leadership also urged members, supporters, and the public to ignore the publication because it was false and misleading.
Party Rejects Viral Screening List
According to the party, the circulating list did not come from any authorized party organ. The leadership described the publication as fake and aimed at creating confusion within the party.
Furthermore, party officials explained that the screening process followed approved procedures and timelines. Therefore, no aspirant has received official confirmation regarding clearance or disqualification.
Screening Committee Yet to Release Official Results
The party disclosed that the screening committee chaired by Mauriana Ajibola concluded its assignment less than a day ago. As a result, the leadership said it was impossible for any authentic list to have emerged at this stage.
The party also assured aspirants that it would release verified information through approved communication channels when the process is complete.
