Special Adviser to the President on Media and Communication, Sunday Dare, on Tuesday visited LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, where 44 rescued pupils and teachers are receiving treatment after spending 56 days in captivity. During the visit, he assessed their recovery, met with families, reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to ending insecurity, and donated transport support to victims’ relatives upon discharge.
Victims Show Steady Recovery
Dare toured the hospital alongside the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Olawale Olakulehin. He expressed satisfaction with the remarkable recovery recorded by most of the rescued pupils and teachers.
Many of the victims thanked the Federal Security forces for securing their freedom. They also appreciated President Bola Tinubu for supporting the rescue operation.
Families Meet Presidential Aide
The presidential aide also met with parents, relatives and family members of the rescued victims.
Hospital officials confirmed that 25 of the 43 victims were discharged from LAUTECH Teaching Hospital on Tuesday evening after responding well to treatment.
Tinubu Renews Commitment to Ending Insecurity
During the visit, Dare reiterated President Tinubu’s determination to tackle insecurity across Nigeria.
He stressed that the Federal Government remains committed to protecting citizens and ensuring the safety of communities nationwide.
Dare Donates Transport Support
In addition, Dare made a personal donation to assist each victim’s family with transportation costs after hospital discharge.
The gesture aimed to ease the burden on families as they prepared to return home with their loved ones.
