President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received NIMASA Director-General Dr. Dayo Mobereola at the State House, Abuja, to review maritime sector progress and challenges. The meeting focused on developments within NIMASA over the past two years and explored ways to strengthen Nigeria’s Marine and Blue Economy. President Tinubu also urged the agency to sustain its efforts toward growing the maritime industry and boosting its contribution to Nigeria’s GDP.
Tinubu Reviews NIMASA’s Progress
During the meeting, Dr. Mobereola briefed President Tinubu on NIMASA’s activities over the past two years.
He highlighted key achievements recorded by the agency during the period. He also outlined major challenges affecting Nigeria’s maritime sector.
The briefing provided an opportunity to assess ongoing reforms within the agency. It also highlighted areas requiring stronger government support and coordination.
President Tinubu Backs Maritime Industry Growth
President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to developing Nigeria’s maritime industry.
He described the Marine and Blue Economy as a strategic driver of economic growth. According to the President, the sector can also increase Nigeria’s contribution to GDP.

President Tinubu commended NIMASA for the progress recorded so far.
However, he urged Dr. Mobereola and his team to maintain the momentum. He also encouraged the agency to remain focused on its development objectives.
