Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has commissioned the 27-kilometre Kuri–Nasarawa–Lambam–Gelambam–Dasa Talasse Junction Road in Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State. The event took place during his working visit to the area to boost rural connectivity and economic growth. The governor also launched new LCDA secretariats and inspected key projects. He said the projects will improve agriculture, trade, and grassroots governance.
Boosting Rural Connectivity and Economic Growth
Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the newly completed road will enhance transportation and link farming communities to markets. He explained that improved access will increase agricultural productivity and strengthen economic integration.
The governor also revealed that the State Executive Council approved the construction of the 19.9-kilometre Mararraban Kwaji–Jagali–Jarawa–Maikaho–Tsando–Dandela to Dasa Road. According to him, the project will further expand rural access.
In addition, he directed the immediate reconstruction of the deteriorated Kuran Mota (Kuri Junction) to Kuri Bridge stretch. He noted that the previous administration built the road, but it now requires urgent attention.
Collaboration with NEDC on Garin Bukar Bridge
While inspecting the Garin Bukar Bridge, the governor said his knowledge of the terrain shaped the project’s design. He partnered with the North East Development Commission to execute the bridge.
He assured residents that the state government will construct connecting roads linking Tsando and nearby communities once the bridge is completed.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya also thanked Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the project. He urged residents to support development efforts and protect public infrastructure.
Industrial Park and LCDA Secretariats
Despite limited resources, the governor said his administration has delivered measurable results. He highlighted the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park in Dadinkowa as a major step toward job creation.
In Dadinkowa, he laid the foundation for the Yamaltu East LCDA Secretariat. Similarly, in Zambuk, he performed the groundbreaking for the Yamaltu West LCDA Secretariat.
He announced that elections for LCDA Chairmen and Councillors will take place in the coming months. He encouraged youths to participate actively in grassroots governance.
Furthermore, he disclosed that a bill seeking constitutional recognition for LCDAs has passed three readings at the National Assembly. He expressed optimism about its final approval.
The governor added that indigenous contractors are handling both projects to promote local participation and ownership.
Traditional Rulers Commend Development Efforts
The Emir of Yamaltu, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, praised the governor for fulfilling campaign promises. He commended initiatives such as the LCDAs, the industrial park, and new rural roads.
Similarly, the Emir of Deba, HRH Alhaji Ahmed Usman, lauded the governor for executing impactful projects across the Emirate.
At the Yamaltu palace, the governor expressed satisfaction with the renovated Emirate Council complex. He said the Joint Project Development Agency executed the project successfully.
He stressed that the creation of LCDAs will strengthen traditional institutions and accelerate grassroots development. He added that the state’s population has grown from under two million to over four million. Therefore, proactive planning remains essential.
Lawmakers, Residents Back Governor’s Leadership
The Chairman of Yamaltu/Deba LGA, Hon. Abubakar Hassan Difa, applauded the governor’s development drive.
Rt. Hon. Inuwa Garba, representing Yamaltu/Deba Federal Constituency, said the governor’s achievements influenced his alignment with the APC. He credited the administration’s leadership for the prevailing peace in Gombe State.
Hon. Musa Manager Zambuk, representing Yamaltu West in the State House of Assembly, also thanked the governor for creating the Yamaltu West LCDA.
During the visit, hundreds of supporters defected to the APC. They cited the governor’s performance and leadership style as their reasons.
Commitment to Security and Essential Services
At every stop, jubilant crowds welcomed the governor and his entourage. He reiterated that security, education, and healthcare remain fundamental rights. He assured residents that his administration will continue to deliver essential services.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya emphasized that development requires collective responsibility. He urged citizens to safeguard public investments and support ongoing projects.
