A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Ibrahim Ali Amin, known as Ibrahim Little, has unveiled his vision for Kano State’s 2027 governorship race in Kano, outlining plans to tackle drug abuse, empower youths, and strengthen human capital development through policy reforms, social welfare programmes, and strategic party mobilisation.
Drug Abuse in Kano Raises Alarm
Ibrahim Little expressed concern over rising drug abuse in Kano. He described the situation as alarming and urgent.
He recalled a past meeting with Buba Marwa at the residence of Bashir Tofa.
According to him, Kano was described as a global epicenter of drug abuse.
However, he pledged decisive action. He said his administration will focus on rehabilitation, education, and job creation.
Youth Empowerment at the Core
The aspirant placed strong emphasis on youth inclusion. He promised to allocate 70 percent of political appointments to young people.
This pledge exceeds the party’s 40 percent benchmark.
He explained that youths bring innovation, energy, and digital skills to governance.
Education, Healthcare, and Job Creation
Ibrahim Little identified human capital development as his top priority.
He promised major investments in education and healthcare.
He also plans to create industries that will generate employment.
In addition, he will promote vocational training for young people.
Social Welfare for Vulnerable Groups
The politician proposed a Social Welfare Bill for Kano State.
The bill will support widows, orphans, and the elderly.
He said the programme will improve living standards and provide essential care.
Preparation for ADC Primaries
Ibrahim Little described himself as one of the most active aspirants in the party.
He said he has focused on building party structures and mobilising members.
He added that his next step is preparing for the primaries.
Confidence and Political Experience
The aspirant expressed confidence in securing the party ticket.
He stated that his political experience gives him an edge over others.
However, he pledged to accept the outcome of a free and fair primary election.
Kwankwaso’s Entry Strengthens ADC
He described the entry of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso into the ADC as a major boost.
He noted that the development strengthens the party at both state and national levels.
Commitment to Internal Democracy
Ibrahim Little said the party will follow the Electoral Act.
He explained that ADC may adopt consensus or direct primaries.
He assured members that due process will guide candidate selection.
Outlook for 2027 Elections
The aspirant expressed confidence in the party’s readiness.
He said the ADC will participate fully in the 2027 elections.
He added that only legal challenges could disrupt the process.
