ADC Crisis: David Mark Says Opposition Cannot Be Silenced Amid Political Pressure

The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, on Monday addressed party members at the 2026 National Convention in Abuja, Nigeria, where he declared that forces opposing the party had tried to derail its activities through legal and institutional means, why insisting that the opposition remains strong and committed to safeguarding democracy.

Mark stated that opponents of a united ADC deployed several tactics to frustrate the party’s convention.

According to him, these included court actions, administrative bottlenecks, and denial of access to preferred venues.

However, Mark maintained that the party would not yield to pressure.
