By Elizabeth Ugbo

A woman abducted in Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has returned home pregnant after spending five months in captivity, according to media personality Reuben Buhari, who disclosed the incident and explained that kidnappers seized her while she cared for her sick mother, held her in harsh conditions, and released her after ransom was paid.

Abduction in Kasuwan Magani

According to Buhari, the incident occurred when armed kidnappers invaded a residence in Kasuwan Magani. The victim was attending to her seriously ill mother at the time.

The attackers abducted her alongside three others and took them into the bush. The incident added to rising insecurity concerns in Kaduna State.

Five Months of Hardship in Captivity

The victim reportedly endured severe suffering during her five-month captivity. She faced hunger, illness, and repeated physical abuse.

Buhari explained that she also walked barefoot for months, which caused serious swelling in her feet. In addition, she continues to suffer emotional and psychological trauma.

Pregnancy Discovered After Release

After her release, the woman was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation. Doctors confirmed that she was pregnant.

Buhari linked the pregnancy to repeated assaults during her captivity. Meanwhile, the victim reportedly requested a termination. However, doctors advised against immediate action due to her weak condition.

She now requires stabilization and blood transfusion before any further medical decisions.

Rising Concerns Over Female Kidnap Victims

This case reflects a disturbing pattern involving female victims of kidnapping in Kaduna State. Buhari stressed that many survivors endure traumatic experiences that often remain untold.

Previous Incident in Kagarko LGA

Last month, kidnappers abducted 14 people from Janjala community in Kagarko Local Government Area. Among them were women and a vigilante member with his wife.

The abductors demanded N14 million ransom. Families later raised N13 million after intense efforts.

However, the kidnappers reportedly killed two women. Sources claimed the victims resisted sexual assault attempts. The attackers later released some women but kept the men in captivity.

Community Reactions and Security Concerns

Residents expressed growing fear over repeated abductions across Kaduna communities. Many families now struggle to meet ransom demands while facing uncertainty about victims’ safety.

Security challenges continue to raise concerns about protection for vulnerable groups, especially women.
