The Federal Character Commission (FCC) on Thursday received the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles (Pi-CNG & EV), Barrister Ismaeel Ahmed, in Abuja. The meeting focused on how to ensure equitable access to opportunities in the growing CNG and electric vehicle sector. Participants discussed infrastructure deployment, technical services, and logistics opportunities. The engagement aimed to promote balanced participation across the country and support inclusive economic development.

FCC and Pi-CNG & EV Discuss Inclusive Sector Growth

During the strategic meeting, both organisations explored ways to expand access to opportunities within Nigeria’s emerging clean energy transportation sector.

The discussions centred on creating a structured framework that would allow individuals and businesses from all regions to participate in the industry’s growth. In addition, stakeholders highlighted the need for fairness and transparency in the allocation of opportunities.

Focus on Infrastructure, Technical Services and Logistics

The meeting examined key areas driving growth in the sector. These include CNG infrastructure deployment, electric vehicle support services, technical training, maintenance operations, and logistics networks.

Furthermore, both parties acknowledged the importance of developing local capacity to support the sector’s long-term sustainability.

Commitment to Balanced National Participation

Officials stressed the need for equal representation as the industry continues to expand. They noted that balanced access would encourage broader economic participation and create opportunities across Nigeria.

The engagement also reinforced the Federal Character Commission’s commitment to promoting fairness, inclusion, and national unity in emerging industries.
