Nigeria Police Launches 24/7 Emergency Reporting Channel for School Safety

The Nigeria Police Force has launched a 24-hour emergency reporting channel to improve school safety across Nigeria. The Schools Protection Squad (SPS), based at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, announced the service for parents, students, teachers, school administrators, and the public. The hotline operates every day and allows people to report school-related threats through calls, WhatsApp, and the Police VGS app. The initiative aims to prevent attacks, protect learners, and encourage early reporting of security concerns.

The Nigeria Police Schools Protection Squad now operates a dedicated emergency channel for school security incidents nationwide.

Citizens can report attacks on schools, student hostels, or any threat around learning environments. The service also covers both public and private educational institutions.

Incidents Nigerians Should Report

The Police urged the public to report:

  • Attacks on schools
  • Attacks on student hostels, both on and off campus
  • Student kidnapping or abduction
  • Bullying among students
  • Molestation and harassment
  • Suspicious movements around schools
  • Suspicious persons seen on the way to or from school

Early reports can help security agencies respond quickly and prevent violence.
