A tricycle rider died while two male passengers sustained injuries after a crash involving a tricycle and a Howo truck at Alasia Bus Stop along the Sango-Ijoko Road in Ogun State on Friday night. The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) confirmed the incident on Saturday. According to the agency, blurry vision reportedly caused the accident. Emergency responders evacuated the victims, while authorities cleared the road to restore traffic.
TRACE Confirms Fatal Crash
The Public Relations Officer of TRACE, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, disclosed the incident in a statement issued in Ota on Saturday.
He said the tricycle rider died at the scene, while two male passengers suffered injuries.
Emergency responders rushed the injured victims to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, officials deposited the deceased’s body at the Ifo General Hospital morgue.
Eyewitness Blames Poor Visibility
According to Akinbiyi, an eyewitness attributed the crash to blurry vision around Alasia Bus Stop on the inbound Sango-Ijoko Road.
The accident involved a commercial tricycle and a Howo truck.
Authorities have not reported any additional casualties.
Officials Clear Road After Accident
TRACE officials removed both the damaged tricycle and the truck from the road.
The action helped restore the free flow of traffic along the busy route.
TRACE Urges Motorists to Drive Safely
Akinbiyi advised motorists to remain patient while driving.
He also urged road users to avoid dangerous driving practices that often lead to preventable crashes.
According to him, caution and adherence to traffic rules remain essential to reducing road accidents across Ogun State.
