The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has launched a new toll-free hotline, 3367, to improve traffic emergency response across Lagos State. The service was unveiled on Sunday through a statement by the agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq. The hotline allows residents to report traffic incidents free of charge through MTN, Glo and 9mobile networks. The initiative aims to strengthen road safety, improve traffic management and boost accountability.
Hotline Replaces Old Communication Channel
LASTMA said the new 3367 short-code replaces its previous long-service code. As a result, residents can now report emergencies more quickly and conveniently.
Road users can use the hotline to report:
- Vehicle breakdowns
- Road crashes
- Disabled articulated vehicles
- Stranded tankers
- Traffic obstructions
- Other traffic-related emergencies
The agency believes the simplified code will encourage more people to report incidents promptly.
General Manager Highlights Technology-Driven Traffic Management
LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the initiative as a major step toward modernising traffic management.
According to him, the hotline supports the agency’s commitment to building a responsive, technology-driven and citizen-centred transportation system.
“The inauguration of the 3367 Toll-Free Short-Code Hotline represents another monumental stride towards institutionalising a safer, more efficient and highly responsive transportation ecosystem across Lagos State,” he said.
Bakare-Oki added that residents now have a direct and free channel to report emergencies requiring immediate attention.
Hotline Supports Accountability and Transparency
The General Manager noted that Lagos continues to grow rapidly. Therefore, the state requires faster and smarter traffic management solutions.
He assured residents that trained personnel would handle every report professionally and confidentially. The agency will also forward verified complaints to the appropriate operational units for immediate action.
In addition, the hotline enables residents to report the conduct and professionalism of LASTMA officials. This measure strengthens transparency, accountability and better service delivery.
Residents Can Report in Three Languages
To improve accessibility, callers can communicate with hotline operators in English, Yoruba or Pidgin English.
LASTMA said this multilingual approach removes language barriers during emergencies and encourages wider public participation.
The agency urged residents to use the 3367 hotline responsibly. It said public cooperation remains essential to improving road safety and ensuring efficient traffic management across Lagos State.
