Senator Shehu Buba Demands Formal Investigation
The senator’s position followed the circulation of several videos allegedly linked to him.
Hassan has also made claims suggesting that Shehu Buba maintains connections with terrorists.
However, the senator’s supporters said security authorities received complaints about the allegations in 2025.
According to the statement, Hassan has continued making the allegations through various media platforms.
The statement also claimed that Hassan has yet to provide evidence to security agencies.
It said authorities had reportedly invited him to substantiate his allegations.
Senator Challenges Hassan to Provide Evidence
Shehu Buba and his supporters have now challenged Hassan to present any evidence he possesses.
They said the appropriate security agencies should examine such evidence through a formal process.
The senator’s camp said it welcomes any legitimate investigation into the allegations.
“We have no objection to investigations or inquiries by the appropriate authorities.”
The statement urged anyone with credible evidence against the senator to submit it formally.
According to the senator’s supporters, authorities should determine the facts through an independent investigation.
Camp Rejects Social Media Trial
The senator’s camp also criticised the use of social media platforms to pursue the allegations.
It argued that serious accusations require proper legal and investigative procedures.
The statement said such claims should not receive judgment through media appearances.
Instead, it urged the relevant authorities to investigate the allegations based on available evidence.
The senator’s supporters further accused Hassan of attempting to damage his reputation.
They described the allegations as unverified and potentially defamatory.

Meanwhile, the senator’s camp maintained that credible evidence should guide any investigation.

“We will not accept the use of baseless allegations, defamation, or the dissemination of unverified information as a political tool to tarnish someone’s reputation,” the statement added.
